Basset Hounds Stover Country Park

Relive the walk here (10 minute YouTube video)

Our last walk of the year was near Trago Mills in South Devon led by Gay & Mary. Only 12 hounds made it perhaps put off by the horrendous month of rain we've had, but in practice there was only a relatively short stretch of mud to encounter.

The walk was completely flat being largely round a lake full of ducks and a swan that took exception to Dotty one of our more curious or brave hounds. (Unfortunately not captured on film). A beagle was met en route and the owner acquainted with that breed's shortcomings. Little Will started the usual chase but Lola - Malcolm's hound - did fair to imitate but we were assured she was only second into the field, not the leader.

Mike's Epic was sadly deprived of a good hunt and escape, being kept restrained all the way round. We sensed his sadness.

It was good to welcome new members Alan & Maxine plus Desmond all the way from Gloucester, but they did stay overnight near the Donkey Sanctuary, another passion.

So a merry Christmas to all our friends and hounds and see you in February.
