Basset Hound Walkers Tipton

A return to the quiet valley of East Devon where we meander round the river Otter and our 88th meeting. Andrew is the expert walk leader, but guided (is that the word I am looking for?) by wife Caroline and famille (possibly).

Start at 10.30 as usual.
We start from the sports field car park opposite the garage at Tipton St John. The village is two miles south of Ottery St Mary. It's a small village with one pub, one garage, one primary school and one sports field.

Tipton

There is a pub at the start/finish in Tipton St John called the Golden Lion. (SatNav EX10 0AA)They have outside seating but stop serving food at 2pm so everyone will need to bring food to avoid going hungry!

Landscape mostly flat. Basically starting at Tipton St John, walking up the right hand side of the river Otter, past the village of Wiggaton, onto Ottery St Mary where we cross a bridge over the river and walk back down the other to Tipton. Teeny bit of having to cross a lane in two places, some cows in one field. Other than that, I think it met all criteria!"

Distance around five miles.
